Master's Students

Christina Osadchuk, BHSc
Christina started her master's degree in September 2023 with the Adamo lab. She previously graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Degree from the Bachelor of Health Sciences program. Christina's research passions lie in improving health outcomes for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and Veterans.

Her master's projects will be examining how pelvic health in female Canadian Armed Forces members and Veterans has impacted their lives, careers, and physical fitness. As a serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Christina is excited to apply her research to her career as a medic. In her spare time, Christina enjoys doing physical activity in all forms, backcountry camping, and crocheting.

Christina was the recipient of the 2023 Capacity Building Initiative, awarded by the Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence for Canadian Veterans, and the University of Ottawa Special Merit Scholarship (2023, 2024).

Meaghan MacDonald, HBSc.
Meaghan will be starting her first year of her Master’s at the Adamo Lab in the Fall of 2023. She graduated in 2022 from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She has spent her last year volunteering in the Adamo Lab and assisting the team with various projects.

Meaghan is passionate about physical activity and female healthcare. She is excited to begin her Master’s with a focus on how maternal physical activity impacts the mitochondria found within the placenta.

In her free time, Meaghan loves hiking, cycling, and finding new ways to stay active. She is an avid traveller and is always up for an adventure.

Justine Chittaro, BHSc.
Justine completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa studying health sciences. In her 4th year, she completed her honours project in the Adamo Lab investigating associations between sleep, physical activity, and SmartMoms Canada app usage.

Justine started her Master's with the Adamo Lab in the Fall of 2025. Her Master's will focus on exploring the placenta metabolome of physically active versus inactive pregnancies. She hopes to discover some key differences which can help uncover the effects of physical activity on maternal and fetal health.

In her free time, she likes to stay physically active at the gym and participate in recreational sports with her friends.

Justine is a recipient of the 2024 CIHR Canadian Graduate Research Scholarship.
